Melinda Clarke is best known as a TV actress and started her career on one of the longest running day time soap operas, Days of Our Lives. She starred as Faith Taylor in 17 episodes of the TV drama from 1989 – 1990. A year after leaving the soap opera she landed a guest spot on the popular Jake and the Fatman in the episode Every time we say Goodbye. She then got four feature length films from 1992 – 1993, namely, Out for Blood in 1992, she played Laura, Hot under the Collar, where she played Monica in 1992, Young Goodman Brown in 1993, where she played Faith Brown, and Return of the Living Dead 3, where she played Julie Walker, also in 1993.
In 1994 Melinda Clarke played Christy in The George Carlin Show in the Episode named George helps Christy and then moved onto Heaven Helps Us in the same year, where she played Lexy Monroe in 10 episodes. Clarke played Savannah Delongpre in the movie Return to Two Moon Junction in 1995 and then appeared in two more movie roles in 1996, the first being Mulholland Falls and the second named Le Lengua Asesina, where she played Cindy. Also in 1996 she guest starred as Lola Vale in an episode of Strange Luck called Lighting Strikes.
1997 was a busy time for Melinda Clarke as she went from TV series to movie to TV movie and back to TV series starting with a role in the movie Critics and other Freaks, playing Mrs. M, the TV movie Soldier of Fortune, where she played Margo Vincent, two episodes of the popular TV series Xena: The Warrior Princess, where she played Velasca, Seinfeld as Alex in the episode called The Muffin Tops, Sliders as Allasandra in the episode called This Slide of Paradise, and the blockbuster movie Spawn as Jessica Priest. Also in 1997 she got to reprise her role as Margo Vincent in the TV series adaptation of the Soldier of Fortune movie. She acted in 11 episodes from 1997 – 1999.
Her career took a turn and she started landing bigger and better roles in in hit shows like The Pretender in 2000 playing Miss Eve in Meltdown, Nash Bridges, where Melinda Clarke played Karen Decker in 1997’s episode called Out of Chicago and then Inspector Abby Gordon in 2000’s End Game. Other hit series’ where she appeared are Star Trek: Enterprise, Charmed, Everwood and Tremors, all of which she guest starred in from 2001 – 2003.
In 2002 Melinda Clarke landed a recurring spot on The District and played Detective Olivia Cahill in 5 episodes, and in 2003 she landed the role that she would be most known for Julie Cooper in the popular series, The O.C. starring in 88 episodes. From 2007 – 2011 she landed guest spots on popular TV series like Reaper, King of the Hill, Eli Stone, Chuck, Entourage, Ghost Whisperer, The Vampire Diaries, and CSI: Crime Scene Investigation. In 2010 she landed a recurring role in the hit TV series Nikita, a remake of the TV series Le Femme Nikita and movies based on the same character.
